2009 seems to have been the year of multitracking, working with Jaki Irvine on Seven Folds in Time and with Rob Canning for the flute version of kyklos, which formed part of linuxwochen 2009 in Linz.

As it turned out, these two works are almost mirror images: in Jaki's, material that I improvised was assembled by Jaki into the final work, whereas in Rob's piece, the performer(s) are given fairly specific materials, but are free to leave silences at any point in each layer, thus creating a web of differing densities.

The Linz installation involved a projection of the score and six-channel sound. Various versions are available for download from Rob's website, where there is also much more information on the piece. Both Rob and I have been working independently on binaural mixes, which will be available for download shortly.
